IN the SPOTLIGHT

THANKSMISSION - COMPASSION WEEKEND, NOVEMBER 29-30TH

At the end of this month, on November 29 and 30th, we will be leaving the auditorium vacant and reaching out to our community. This weekend will be the heart of meeting needs for individuals and families, as well as non-profit service agencies around Pierce and Kitsap County. We have spots for over 500 volunteers, over the course of two days, in over 30 projects.

This last week was the first of three ThanksMission Compassion Weekend Fairs. At the fair, you have the opportunity to meet with team leaders, discuss projects and sign up in the spot where you would most like to serve. Project sign ups are available 24/7 at the web site and each Sunday through November 23rd.

WHAT CAN I DO?
Serve…
while some of the projects involve swinging a hammer, many projects just need helping hands to clean toys, pack boxes or serve food. There is a spot for all of us to be involved, including teens and children, to reach out and touch lives in tangible ways.

Give…each week we have been highlighting the list of supplies needed for various projects. So many of you have responded. We have donations new and used for nearly every project; however, we still have big needs that must be met. For a list of all the projects and supplies needed, CLICK HERE.

WHERE DO I MAKE DONATIONS?
Lighthouse Christian School generously donated storage space for donations that are being made to ThanksMission. Donations can be dropped off at 3008 36th St NW. The facility will be clearly marked and open for donations M-F from 9-3:00 p.m. Donations can also be made at church each Sunday during the month of November.

For everyone who has been involved this continues to be an effort of many to help those in real need. We have already been amazed at the generosity, enthusiasm, and grace that has been extended to these organizations and families. Don’t miss being a part of something BEYOND OURSELVES.

HIGH SCHOOL LATE NITE @ YMCA
Late Nite has been a blast with the rock climbing, basketball, and other activities. Most recently, concerts have been added for a whole new dimension. What has really been great, according to Josh, Student Ministries Pastor, is just talking and getting to know the kids. This Friday, November 14 is the Pool Party. Don't miss Friday, Late Nite 9:30 - midnight. For more information on this and other youth events, contact Josh via E-mail: josh@hcctoday.com.
