MISSION TO MEXICO 2008 - SERVICE ADVENTURE
On July 27th, for one week, HCC will embark on our 7th trip to the Rancho Milagro Orphanage in Ensenada, Mexico.

The kids at Rancho Milagro look forward every year to our group coming down to have the greatest week of their life. We spend the week doing everything we can to create a lifelong positive memory in the minds and hearts of children that have been abused and abandoned. We fly into San Diego and rent vans to take us the rest of the way into Mexico. Speaking the language is definitely not necessary, being able to hug a child and play with them is. We will also do some small work projects around the orphanage, so if you have the "handy-man" gift, you are greatly needed. Anyone is welcome to come.

The first mandatory informational meeting is schedule after at 11:30 a.m., Sunday April 20th, in the Peninsula High School Library. It is very important that you attend this meeting, even if you have served on a Mexico trip before and are planning to go again this year.

The cost of the trip is $700 per person; the first non-refundable deposit of $350 is due by May 4th.

WITH THESE TWO HANDS...

As you know, over the last several weeks we have been talking about using our own two hands in reaching out to those with HIV, those who are homeless and this coming week for those who are hungry. In the midst of this all, we received an email about a single mom with three children who needs reliable transportation. This women is a full-time student, cares for herself and her family, but has exhausted her resources in repairing a car that is now getting beyond her reach. If you have a vehicle that you could give that would provide reliable transportation and could accommodate three car seats, would you let us know? HCC will work to facilitate the donation to this mom. Please contact the office at 253.853.4787 or via

E-mail: office@hcctoday.com.

BABY DEDICATION - MOTHER'S DAY MAY 11TH

Sunday, May 11th, Mother's Day, we will be having the first of two Baby Dedications during the morning services at 9:00 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m. Here at HCC we believe that children are precious to God and in recognition of our love and commitment to raise our children, we dedicate babies and pray for parents. If you are interested in getting more information or signing up for this Dedication Service, please contact us via

E-mail: office@hcctoday.com.

NETWORK TACOMA

Last week we heard from Bob Weyrick about Network Tacoma. Network's ultimate concern is for homeless children. Bob and the volunteers at Network, recognize the need for long-term solutions for homeless families with children. Their program provides transitional housing utilizing a three-step process to move families from homelessness and poverty to self-sufficiency. HCC has worked alongside Network, but new opportunities always exist for volunteers to make contributions with time, energy, labor or direct donations. If you want to learn more about Network Tacoma and how you or your family might get involved, contact Network at 253.474.9334 or visit their web site at
