Spotlight
MINISTRY PARTNERS @ HCCWe have been working over the past year to establish ongoing relationships with a variety of
Ministry Partners here in our own community. These partners are those we support both financially and well as through volunteer time and energy. These partners include agencies working with kids afflicted with AIDS, those working with the homeless, those targeting kids at risk or just providing meals to the hungry.
From time to time we receive special requests for volunteers or for specific donations to help in a time of crisis or on a particular project. Oftentimes in follow up, a story is passed along which details the impact that has been made or the changes that have taken place for individuals and families as we work in partnership with these ministries.
In today’s enews, we wanted to share the good news! The good news of the difference that you are making in many lives with your financial gifts and with the tangible gifts of your time in volunteering with our Ministry Partners. We will also included current opportunities to get involved and make a difference.
Pass along the good news and take the time to get involved in any way you can. For more information on these and other Ministry Partners,

TACOMA AREA YOUTH FOR CHRIST
YFC reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like minded partners. HCC has been supporting
Chrisy Wachtler in her full-time efforts with YFC at Raymond Hall in Tacoma. With the help of scholarships, Chrisy recently went to camp along with some 65 middle school students. Camp afforded many of these kids the chance to open up and share for the first time the pain and hurt of parents and friends who have abused or abandoned them. Kids previously recruited by gangs, instead made decisions to follow the carpenter from Galilee. Thanks for your support with our
Ministry Partner Chrisy at YFC.
RANCHO MILAGRO - MONICA MCINTOSH
In May, we interviewed
Monica McIntosh, who as a high school student joined our Mexico Missions Team. Now Monica, having graduated from SPU, has joined the
staff at Rancho Milagro, in part through your financial support. Here is an update we just received from Monica. "I hope this email finds you well and enjoying the summer..the heat has arrived here in Ensenada..last week my church group from Gig Harbor was here which was an incredible blessing. We played tons of fun games and did lots of crafts all week long. I took the day off with the group..we went to a poor village that is about a half hour away to give them donations (clothes, blankets, etc.)...it was definitely hard to say goodbye to my friends from home, but it was just another reminder that I'm here for the long haul, not just the summer. I thank you all for who you are in my life and your faithfulness in supporting me. I truly appreciate it. Stay in touch and God bless you all!" Remember Monica this week and pray for her time at Rancho Milagro.

YWAM BRAZIL - KERI LEGG @ VIDE NOVA
Just this last spring, we were able to support
Keri Legg in her second trip to Brazil with YWAM. Here is a quick update of the work she is involved with there. "For the first week and a half that I was here, we spent our mornings in the community next door with Colours of Life, a children’s ministry that we volunteered with on our trip last year. The mission of
Colours of Life is to care about the whole child: mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual. Looking at the children, it is very evident that Colours of Life has impacted them in a very positive way. Since we worked with Colours of Life last year also, we were able to see the difference in the children from then until now. Last year, the children were happy while we played games and did crafts with them. But when they would leave, the sorrow would pour back over their faces. This year, there is a
very apparent JOY in their eyes that is with them always. I know that this joy comes from the knowledge that there is a God of Hope who loves them and is with them always." Keri will be in Brazil for six weeks and hopes to return next year.
PRISON FELLOWSHIP MINISTY - MCNEIL ISLAND
In just a few weeks many of you will be starting your back to school shopping and with that in mind we wanted to make you aware of a great opportunity to share your resources with children whose parents are in prison at this time.
Would you join us in gathering school supplies for these children who need pencils, erasers, note paper, spiral notebooks, glue sticks, Elmer's glue, subject folders, and backpacks and bring them with you this Sunday, August 10th and help make a difference in a child's life. Leave your donations at the
Information Table this week!
