THANKSMISSION - Compassion Weekend
ThanksMission - Compassion Weekend, November 29-30th is taking shape! Over 16 projects with local non-profit agencies have been confirmed, including projects with the Tacoma Rescue Mission, Need a Break Services, CareNet and others. These projects will include cleaning, decorating for the holidays, assembling care packages, and much more.

There will be a spot for everyone to be involved, from families to older adults. Over the course of these two days, we anticipate having over 200 volunteers, in a variety of locations, serving and making a difference in individual's lives.

We are currently looking for additional volunteers to step up and serve as Team Leads with the following projects.....

-Tacoma Rescue Mission's Good News Cafe, cleaning pantry.

-Tacoma Rescue Mission Tyler Square, minor mechanical work; oil changes.

-Tacoma Rescue Mission Jefferson Square, sort and wrap gifts.

-Tacoma Rescue Mission Emergency Family Shelter - decorate for the holidays.

As Team Lead, you will be responsible to gather all the necessary details for the project, identify the resources needed, and then work with the team to complete the project. Staci Quisenberry is serving as the Project Coordinator for this weekend and will support these Team Leads every step of the way. Team Leads meet each week, Wednesdays at 7:00 pm, at Lighthouse Christian School. If you are interested in being a Team Lead, please let us know right away via email at Compassion@HCCtoday.com.

For those who are interested in participating on a team, sign-ups will begin on Sunday, November 2nd at the ThanksMission - Compassion Weekend Fair or via email at Compassion@HCCtoday.com. We are finding that specific skills will likely be needed for certain projects, so if you have a skill, e.g. electrical, plumbing, painting or roofing that you would like offer that weekend, let us know.

In addition to the number of projects that have been our early focus, we hope to disperse and work in teams with a number of local families in need. If you are aware of any single moms or families who could use a hand, given whatever their circumstances may be, would you let us know right away?

We are excited about the potential for this weekend and sharing together as we work together for those in need.

GUEST ARTIST, JUSTIN FOX..

Joining this Sunday for worship in the Library Venue and later in the Auditorium Venue for recording artist, Justin Fox. Justin's story is a mix of an authentic life, with the influence of all forms of music, jazz, the blues and acoustic guitar. In his words, "I’ve been lost in Bangkok and found at a summer camp, been arrested for trespassing and married the love of my life, spent the night in a Greyhound station in Seattle and a VIP lounge in Hong Kong, sailed a record company president’s yacht and had to run from a burning tour bus, experienced great heartache and intense joy, heard the voice of God and the silence of doubt." Don't miss this special chance to hear Justin Fox.

ARE YOU THE ONE WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR?

Are you the one with the "cool" sound system? The one who day dreams about right clicking with your wireless mouse? Are you the one who critiques the edits while watching TV? The one who has a "Galaxy Theater" in your own home? Are you the one who would like a second chance at doing the presentation at work that they would not forget? We are looking for you. We will train those with an interest to help on Sunday mornings with sound, lighting, and the tech side of production. If this is you, let us know by contacting the office at 253.853.4787 or via
