YEAR END GIVING
As we are coming to the close of a great year of ministry here at HCC and beginning another, your giving can still be included for this year. You can mail your checks to the office at 4423 Point Fosdick Dr. NW, Suite 100-5, Gig Harbor WA 98335. To be included in this year's giving, checks must be postmarked by Dec. 31, 2008.
You can also give online at HCCtoday.com and set up your giving so that your card is automatically debited either weekly or monthly. CLICK HERE
Q&A about giving
As we come to "Year End Giving," there are several other ways you can give other than checks, cash, or online. Here are several questions regarding giving property and securities.
Q – What about donating property to the Church?
A – You can generally deduct the fair market value of assets you donate. To determine the fair market value of certain items, such as gems, boats, works of art and real estate, the IRS requires a professional appraisal which we can take care of for you.
Q- What are the rules for donating securities?
A- You can deduct the market value of securities such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds on the date you make the contribution. Neither you nor the church pays tax on any increase in the security's value since you purchased it, making donating appreciated securities an effective way to reduce capital gains taxes.
