HOPE FOR LIFE - MAPALO ORPHANAGE, ZAMBIA
An estimated 650,000 children have been orphaned or left with one parent as a result of AIDS/HIV in Zambia. Zambia is an African country where 20 percent of adults suffer from AIDS/HIV. Nowhere is the problem of AIDS and children more drastic than in southern Africa. In spite of these statistics, we can make a difference one life at time.

Here at HCC, we have been intimately involved with the Mapalo Orphanage for over two years, making a difference in the lives of children who have lost their parents through the AIDS pandemic. For 2009, we are working to be strategic and increase our involvement by starting a non-profit organization called, Hope for Life. In creating a non-profit organization, we are now able to sponsor each child and begin to build a sustainable life for them by providing an education, a nutritious meal and health care.

HCC's goal is to have 150 people sponsor a child on a monthly basis. We have just completed the necessary web infrastructure for the child sponsorship program and are just a few weeks from having the children's individual pictures posted on the site. Here at HCC, we have a team of people who are committed to praying for you during the week. HCC BLOOD DRIVE - THIS SUNDAY

This coming Sunday, January 18th, we will be sponsoring the second Blood Drive @ HCC with Cascade Regional Blood Services. The Blood Mobile will be open from 9:00 to noon, just outside the main entrance at Peninsula High School. Just remember...ONE pint of blood can save up to THREE lives.Click here to SIGN UP.



GROWTH GROUPS @ HCC

Taking the first step to be involved in community is never easy, but the relationships can enrich our lives beyond our expectations. This coming Sunday during the service, we will introduce you to one of our Growth Group lead couples. They will be available after the service to answer any questions you may have regarding Growth Groups or provide you with a card to sign up for a group in your area. Five Growth Groups have already been formed and two new groups will be opened in the next few weeks. These groups meet in a variety of locations from Fox Island to Gig Harbor North. STEPPIN' UP LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
