HCC WEEKEND ROADTRIP 2009, NOVEMBER 28-29

We are stepping out for the second year on Thanksgiving weekend for the HCC Weekend Road Trip to serve families and non-profit agencies in the Pierce County area.  This year we have over 31 projects identified and team leads have stepped up and volunteered to coordinate volunteer teams, organize donations and pull together the details to make their project a reality.  Of the 31 projects, we still need team leads for five projects.  Grab a friend or partner and contact Denise Funk to volunteer as a lead today.  The projects in need of a lead include the following:
If you would be interested in serving as a team lead or just learning more about what would be involved, contact Denise Funk at 253-853-4787 or via email at office@hcctoday.com.  For more information about these or the other HCC Weekend Road Trip projects, CLICK HERE.  You can look through the list of projects, contact the team leader or make a donation of items needed for that particular team.

CHASE THE PIG - HCC HIGH SCHOOL

Selfishness.  Self indulgence.  Arrogance.  Pig-like behaviors.  Chase the Pig is not the HCC High School youth group, but a youth movement to address the things that would cause us to live like selfish pigs.  It is a movement about giving and becoming less piggish in our own lives.  Chase the Pig gets together each Sunday night through the school year at 6 p.m. at the Hope Center, Boys and Girls Club. Great food, live band, surprise guests all focused on a big idea from the Bible that addresses the selfish pig issues in all of us.  For more information, Chase the Pig on Facebook HERE or Twitter HERE.

WE'RE ON THE MOVE

Don't miss out on opening day, Sunday, October 25th at the Hope Center-Boys and Girls Club in Gig Harbor for services at 9:00 and 10:30 am.  Their new facility is amazing and will provide so many new opportunities for us as a church.  Kids classes, Nursery through Fifth grade are available at both services; middle school, FAZE3 meets at the 10:30 a.m. service.  For directions and more information, CLICK HERE.

PARKING TEAM @ THE HOPE CENTER

With the move to the Hope Center, parking will be our biggest challenge. While there is plenty of parking, finding your spot can be a bit of a challenge. Cal Glomstad has stepped up to help us out with coordinating a volunteer team to assist you with parking!  You have several options for parking including, parking on site for individuals with special access needs; parking on the street; parking at Henderson Bay High School and as part of the HIKER'S CLUB parking at Gig Harbor High School.  The walk for the Hiker's Club is only 4 minutes!  If you are interested in joining the parking team and working with Cal, contact us via email at

We are currently looking for volunteers to help in the Nursery and in the Preschool classes.  If you are interested in stepping up and getting involved, CLICK HERE!
