YEAR END GIVING
December is a great month to finalize your giving for the year. There are several ways for you to give before the end of 2009.

•Cash or checks are the most common gifts we receive. Checks should be made out to HCC and can be given on Sunday mornings or mailed to the office at 4423 Point Fosdick Dr. NW, Ste 100-5, Gig Harbor WA 98335. A year-end receipt will be mailed to you in January or you can print your receipt on-line at HCCtoday.com. To be included in this year’s giving, checks must be postmarked by December 31st, 2009.

• Online giving is another way that individuals choose to give at HCC. Our secure site at HCCtoday.com will walk you through a simple process to make either a one-time gift or a recurring weekly or monthly gift. Every online gift is recorded in our office and your giving will be included in your year-end receipt. CLICK HERE TO GIVE ONLINE.

•Appreciated stocks and securities is another way to give. You may have assets that have grown in value such as stocks, mutual funds, bonds that can bring you a greater tax savings. If you have owned such assets for more than a year, you may deduct the full value on the date of transfer, even if they were purchased at a lower price. This kind of donation is a great way to give a growing asset without paying the capital gains tax, yet receive a tax deduction for the full value.

•Property can also be donated at this time of year.  You can generally deduct the fair market value of assets you donate. To determine the fair market value of certain items, such as gems, boats, works of art and real estate, the IRS requires a professional appraisal, which we can take care of for you.

CHRISTMAS EVE @ HCC

Join us for our family Christmas Eve services at the Hope Center on Thursday, December 24th at 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm.  This will be a great family time together with a traditional Christmas celebration and a time of cookies and coffee to follow.  Childcare will be available for children 2 and under.  Limited seating is available for each service.  Tickets will be available at no charge starting Sunday, December 13th.  You can also make your reservation on-line for the 4:30 pm service HERE and for the 6:00 pm service HERE.


COOKIES ON CHRISTMAS EVE

PJ AND MOVIE DAY IN KIDSZONE

It's time again to let loose and bring your kids to The Zone straight out of bed! Join us Sunday, December 27th, for all kids from Kindergarten through 5th grade for PJ and Movie Day in the Zone. Come as you are in your pj's, with your blankets and pillows, for a full hour of fun, games and a surprise movie!


CRIBS FOR MOMS IN NEED

We were contacted this past week by one of our ministry partners here in Gig Harbor, CareNet.  CareNet centers offer free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, peer counseling services, and other practical, emotional, and spiritual help to empower women and men facing pregnancy related concerns.  The Gig Harbor center is working with two moms who have decided to keep their babies, but they need our support.  We are looking for two cribs in good condition to share with these women.  If you have a crib or are interested in purchasing one to support these moms, please contact Caryn in the office at 853-4787 or via email at

FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY, JANUARY 9 & 16
