WHAT'S HAPPENING IN KIDSZONE @ HCC
KIDSZONE is the hot spot for kids ages Kindergarten through Fifth Grade @ HCC.  They meet each week upstairs in the Hope Center, playing games, watching and singing to video worship and hearing talks just for kids.  Every month our team in KidsZone, under the leadership of Courtney & Rusty Willson, creatively focuses on a different virtue.  This month our activities, songs, games and lessons focus on the virtue of discipline: doing what you need to do now so you can grow stronger.  Our weekly focus this month includes:

January 10th: Bible Story: Matthew 4:1-11
Bottom Line: If you want to know God better, remember His words.

January 17th: Bible Story: Luke 11:1-4
Bottom Line: If you want to know God better, talk to Him.

January 24th: Bible Story: Matthew 16:13-17
Bottom Line: If you want to know God better, talk about Him with your friends.

January 31st
: Bible Story: Mark 12:41-44
Bottom Line: If you want to know God better, make Him more important than anything.

PRE-SCHOOLERS will be learning in the month of January the basic truth that Jesus wants to be my friend forever with the bottom line that I can love God like Jesus did.

January 10th: Weekly Focus: Jesus talked to God.
Bible Story: Jesus Prays (Matthew 6:5-13)

January 17th: Weekly Focus: Jesus taught us to love God.
Bible Story: The Greatest Commandment-Love God (Matthew 22:34-40)

January 24th: Weekly Focus: Jesus taught us to love everyone.
Bible Story: The Greatest Commandment-Love Others (Matthew 22:34-40, Acts 9:1-30)

January 31st: Weekly Focus: Jesus teaches us to pray for others.
Bible Story:  Jesus Prays for Others (John 17)

Thanks Courtney and Rusty for all that you do for KidsZone!

MOM'S CONNECT @ HCC

MOMS Connect is a new group supporting Moms with newborn through elementary school-aged children in the Gig Harbor community. MOMS Connect meets one Thursday evening per month during the school year at the brand new Hope Center (Gig Harbor Boys and Girls Club).  To learn more about MomsConnect, the upcoming meetings or to register online, CLICK HERE.

GROWTH GROUPS @ HCC

Taking the first step to be involved in community is never easy, but the relationships can enrich our lives beyond our expectations. At the end of December, we heard from Henri Moreau on the importance of being connected and finding that connection in a Growth Group. At this time we have seven groups that are open for new individuals or couples meeting in a variety of locations from Fox Island to Gig Harbor North.  If you are interested in meeting together, sharing and discussing the talk from Sunday morning and connecting with other families to learn and serve, CLICK HERE and get started.

PARKING, SUNDAY MORNINGS

On of the best surprises in moving to the Hope Center is the flexibility you all have demonstrated in parking on Sunday mornings.  What we have found over the past several months is that there is typically plenty of parking directly on site or just on the street outside the Hope Center.  By way of reminder, we also have parking available at Henderson Bay High School.  The sidewalk on Skansie Avenue goes directly to the Hope Center upper entrance.  If you find yourself parking on the street and having to trudge through the mud, you might want to consider parking at Henderson Bay High School.

CHASE THE PIG, SUNDAY'S AT 6:00

Last Sunday, January 3rd, was the kick off for 2010 for Chase the Pig.  High school students gathered at the Hope Center at 6:00 pm to hear from Rick and share dinner together.  Our students have also been kicking it up in mentoring each week at First Creek Middle School in Tacoma and are looking forward to serving at the Winter Carnival at White Pass in February.   We want to say a special "THANKS" to Deana Blair and the kitchen crew for providing dinner each week!  This Sunday night at the Hope Center, 6:00, we will be Chasing the Pig and talking about LOVE Matters.  For more information, Chase the Pig on Twitter HERE .

DEADLINE FOR SENIOR PROJECTS

Over the past several years, we have had the privilege of working with a variety of seniors on their culminating service projects.  If you are a graduating senior this coming year and are interested in working with HCC to highlight or promote your project or are interested in working with one of our ministry partners for community service, please note that the deadline for submitting projects is January 31st.  For more information, contact the office at
