HOPE FOR LIFEOver the past few weeks we have been sharing with you our involvement as a church with the Mapalo School for Orphans in Zambia. As many of you know, the AIDS pandemic has taken many lives in Zambia leaving numerous children orphaned. But there is hope in a little place called Mapalo. It is at Mapalo that we have been rebuilding the lives of children affected by the pandemic. This past month, over 35 individuals and families signed up to sponsor a child at Mapalo, providing monthly support for their education and one meal per day.
This Sunday, we will conclude our campaign for Mapalo as we invite you to give above and beyond your regular offering. Last week you may have found on your chair a “Hope For Life Gift” envelope. We asked that you would think this week and consider making a donation to the Mapalo School. It is our intent to pool these gifts and purchase a brick-making machine. This purchase will serve two purposes … to produce bricks for a new classroom, medical clinic, and a wall around the compound, as well as provide a self-sustaining business to support the children.
